Since Yorkshire Cancer Research was set up in 1925, it has become the most successful regional medical research charity in the UK. We fund internationally recognised research into the cause and cure of cancer at universities and their associated teaching hospitals throughout Yorkshire.

YCR is not a regional division of a national charity - it is an independent charity, based and operating in Yorkshire only. We are still, however, at the very forefront of the international fight to find a cure for cancer.
